SHOULD THE KENYAN GOVERNMENT GIVE OUT CPNTRACEPTIVES TO YOUNG TEENAGERS

The health cabinet secretary ,Susan Wafula was giving criticism to the government  after they laid out a motion that teenagers should be issued with contraceptives so as to prevent the high risk in teenage pregnancies  and STIs infections.

According to a poll conducted on twitter,63.3%disagreed with the health Cs while 36.7% agreed with the Cs. Now the truth of the matter is that we live in a day and age where the internet provides a lot of information concerning anything and everything that one may require and everyone can easily access it hence young teenagers are exposed to a lot of information and there is so little we can sheild them from as a parent or guardian.

However that being said, the parent should be notified  before the contraceptive is issued . That being said , below are some of the reasons why teenagers engage in sexual intercourse . However, this does not justify  their reason to engage in sexual behaviours
1.risk taking behaviour
2. Thinking that they are in love and that the relationship will last
3. Media and social media influence
4. Peer pressure from friends and the need to prove that you meet the standards
5. Attention seeking
