WHY ITS HARD FOR THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES CREATIVES TO MAKE A LIVING OUT OF THEIR ART

Being a creative specifically in the third world country  has proven to be quite the struggle especially when  it comes to making money from your art. As an upcoming creative, I can clearly relate to what every other creative that is thriving in this industry has gone through . Listed below are some of the reasons why it's hard for creatives to earn a suitable income from their art

1. BEING PAID BY EXPOSURE
"Exposure".. just writing this word down  literally sends jitters down every upcoming artist, don't get me wrong   being paid by exposure  introduces you to more opportunities and a wider audience but don't we think it's high time brands actually set a budget to pay the various creatives they have hired in their organisation . From the musicians that will  perform anytime you hold an event, to the influencers who  will introduce your organisation and the services you offer to their audience .

2.MAKING UNRELATABLE CONTENT TO THEIR TARGET AUDIENCE
Before becoming a creative , there some things we have to analyse so as to produce the best results out of your work. Yes you've identified what you love doing for example ;  beauty and lifestyle, that's your niche . From your niche ,you are able to identify your target audience . A target audience is classified either by age, gender or even status just to mention a few. Having a target audience is important since you have to get your message out there.
If you are a female lifestyle and beauty content creator  aged between 22_ 30 yes then you're target audience will most likely be of the same age .
Now you've already identified this and start creating content that your audience can relate with . For example most people around this age are starting to find stability in their lives ,  creating content that revolves around how you navigate through your life as a 22_30yr old woman will most likely  reach  a wider audience compared to creating   content that doesn't even align with your niche . Keeping up with what's trending also keeps you relevant  in the creative industry since it shows that you  can easily embrace change  and puts you on the map  when it comes to working with brands.
3. COMPANIES DON'T INVEST IN CREATIVES.
Most organisations don't really see the point of investing in a creative for example an influencer when they already have a marketing and pr department within the organisation. Keep in mind the public relations officer is not  incharge of  advertising for the company but rather he or she plays the role of maintaing a mutual understanding between the organisation and it's public's through the  various communication tools. In order to reach the various publics it's way cheaper to  invest in a creative than  investing in television advertising . Let's be honest how many times do you spend watching television compared to consuming content on social media? The world is changing and it's high time  organisations keep up with the trends or stand a chance to lose their relevance  in society.

This are just but a few reasons why  most creatives don't make money and  end up  giving up on their dream and talents . Feel free to interact with me on the following socials and share some of your insightsAnn cheera's socials
